Visited Anchor coffee for the first time yesterday and have to say the customer service was great and I loved the ambiance. I’m taking off one star because I was constantly pestered with some sort of fruit flies and ended up having to toss my entire streusel muffin that I’d only gotten one bite of (which was AMAZING by the way) because these fruit flies were on it the minute I opened the tin. I’d also love it if they carried earl grey tea. It’s such a staple for those who don’t drink coffee as much! All in all, I would certainly go back especially knowing that they’re dog friendly. Very cool industrial coffee shop with great drink options and beer! It’s located in the Bailey power plant park and has many food and drink places to check out. This place was packed and we were lucky to find a seat, you know that’s always sign of a good business. The service was fine and the music is chill which is great for focusing on work or just hanging out. The interior is very spacious and minimal, they could use more seating especially how packed it gets. Very sad this place is not near where we live but we enjoyed our time spent here greatly, highly recommend!
I discovered this company Anchor Coffee on Valentine’s Day 2024. My girlfriend and I visited that evening after having dinner for Valentines. The girl behind the counter was not friendly at all but the coffee was good. Tonight is March 2 and we decided to go back for another visit and checked the website to see what time they closed. It was 715 when I checked the website and it said they were open till 9:00 pm so we headed out From Clemmons to go downtown for a coffee. When we got there it was 7:50 pm and the same girl that waited on us before had the closed sign on the door. I guess I’ll get my coffee elsewhere from now on.
Anchor coffee is in one of the best locations in downtown Winston Salem. There is a gorgeous little park across the street. It’s surrounded by restaurants, chocolate shop, a brewery, and a pizza place. So many places to just sit and lounge outside. The inside has a very urban look, with incredibly high ceilings. I love going here. Do it as often as I can.

Visiting from Charlotte, we walked in for an afternoon coffee. The space is very unique and appealing. There is plenty of space for talking, working, studying. The pricing was on par with similar shops. The drip coffee and cappuccino were very good in taste. I deducted three stars all because of the service given. Two baristas working, one with two headphones in and not interested in serving customers. The other was likely having personal issues, but seemed overly rude and certainly not in a right state of mind to be working in auctioned service that day. Terrific coffee shop, snacks, and beer in the Power Plant District. The chai latte was terrific and it has an awesome ambience with the exposed ceiling and old power plant style with new age modem decor. I would highly recommend. Great for large groups too.
Anchor is always a staple. Smooth, creamy lattes Arles my favorite to get from here. I especially love their lavender lattes. Service Take out Meal type Other Price per person $1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Great coffee and convenient especially if you work close to Bailey power plant. Updated 2/2/23: I'm so excited they have sandwiches! I got the turkey pesto which came with my choice of chips for $9. The sandwich tastes great and happy to have another choice of lunch options close by. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

This coffee shop has such a unique atmosphere! Love the layout and my caramel latte was delicious and the best I’ve had compared to a few other nearby coffee shops. Music was definitely a tad loud as other reviews mentioned, but if you don’t mind then it’s a great place for study, work, and catching up with friends. Service Dine in Price per person $1–10
