Definitely had to share my thoughts on this particular location. I’ve been shopping at Albertsons for years and the Morro Bay store is amazing! Exceptionally clean, well organized and huge selection.
Most impressive is their staff, specifically Tara, she’s always willing and eager to help and is very knowledgeable. I make a point of heading to her line if she’s at the register, she’s super fast and offers additional items to go with mine, that I have often forgotten to grab.
If you’re in the area, make this your one stop shop for basically anything, and be sure to ask for Tara to experience the best customer service ever!!
If you like grocery items being constantly out of stock or expired, then this is the store for you. Having worked in grocery stores some of their practices are incredible, items are frequently not stocked properly (if they are at all) so that old items remain in the back, etc.
Been shopping there for years, and called in with issues, and it’s just disappointing. Blame is always shifted towards “oh the people who make orders don’t know what they’re doing and that’s not us” but the end result is that this store is at best mediocre, at worst it’s useless to me personally due to lack of items/poor restocking.
I got into Morro Bay late last night and tried to buy a couple snacks for my daughter. My chip reader on my card was not working so she told me to insert three times and then swipe. The machine never gave the option to swipe and Alberson's can't plug a card in manually. The lady at this point was getting quite irritated, telling me it's my card, even though the thing the machines are supposed to do they were not doing. When I asked about using another machine, she talked very loud about the problem and said fine but it's not going to work. Un surprisingly it did not. She very loudly proclaimed mostly to the next person in line sorry your card does not work, to which I said sorry your machine does not work properly. She laughed looked at the other customer and sarcastically said sorry my machine does not work in a mocking tone. They laughed together because the customer had a big Porche to put her groceries in, clearly a comment on her having money unlike there assumption of me. I was treated poorly 100 percent because the old lady working assumed my card did not work because I'm poor and she wanted to make sure I felt bad about it.
I don't generally shop at Alberson's I shop only local but I'm in town on vacation and nothing else was open, I will be happy to find the local grocery stores today where I assume an old white lady won't try to make me feel like a second-class citizen.
Several issues need to be addressed: the Albertsons app doesnt work if I am using the Wifi and the checker told me this is a common problem so turn off the wifi. Someone needs to update this app. Also expiration dates on the app coupons need updating...coupons cannot be used and new dates are not always there.
Checkers and baggers...please talk with these staff about carrying on conversations when a long line is waiting. The young baggers need more supervision...they are incredibly slow and the checkers often jump in to speed up bagging. Then several checkers are oblivious to the long line and are chatting and acting like they are are at a picnic rather that at a job.
Last, Ive had green potatoes more than once that are uneatable, strawberries that are rubbery, half green, and not ripe ( and should not be sold at all), and stale items like pretzels or crackers...my fault for not checking the expiration date. Yet my grocery bill has more than doubled. Looking at small local markets for my groceries instead.
Last minute I decided to buy my wife some birthday flowers. I really appreciate how flexible the floral designer was this afternoon. The wife loves the arrangement! Thank you.
Flower department has a great variety of fresh flowers and prices are reasonable. Denise was very helpful in putting my Christmas bouquet together, thanks to her.
The prices seem a tad higher than elsewhere, but the staff is always kind/funny. No matter how crazy it is (heard one checker saying she hadn't taken a break and was already like an hour + past when she was supposed to be off) they are still nice. Exhausted, but nice. A HUGE shout-out to Faith in the deli!!!! I rarely go to supermarket delis because it just overwhelms me. I really wanted fried chicken....so I gave it a shot. I obviously didn't know what I was doing and Faith pointed out a perfect solution for me and even gave me exactly what pieces wanted!!! She's not fake, she's efficient and knows her stuff.
It's ok. It's like the definition of "as expected". Nice variety of national brands. Somewhat lacking (and a bit expensive?) selection of cheeses. Good variety of beers, with a surprise or two among their brands. Easy parking, and next to a RiteAid, so overall, yeah, it fits the bill.
