I didn't take the best of pics because the good was just so good! Get the Tripleta! It's a pulled pork that's marinated instead of sauced. So delicious, way too filling, the portion was literally a quarter of a loaf of bread! Will be back soon! If you can ask for Javier, an amazing and attentive server! *Additionally I came back in less than a week and I had the Beef Empanadas, ridiculously good! Today is August 26th and I attended a celebration dinner with my cousin in law Danny at 809 Bar & Restaurant. The place looks amazing and you get to the chefs working away hard. The atmosphere is A1. Sitting along side the Genesee River you have a gorgeous view of the water and our iconic Bridge. The service was great the waitress was very attentive and provided great service to our group of 13 people. They keep you refreshed with water and beverages of your choice we also serve you with a lovely loaf of bread with the oil based Italian seasoning (taste great in my opinion). The Birthday boy ordered the Tomahawk Steak which is $149. 99 while I didn't ask him how was his food he seem to eat it all. I myself order the Skirt Steak and Lobster with a side of mashed potatoes. The lobster was very good but the stake was average in my opinion. Potatoes lacked flavor. Over all I give the place a 3 out of 5. Updated review : From original review: it's been awhile since I'd been back to the 809 on exchange. Honestly was very disappointed this last time. Food quality has gone down and cost is honestly expensive for the portion and quality. Not sure if it's a new cook or if quality is going down from the Lyell Ave location but it just wasn't up to par. Originally review: Same family as 809 on Lyell and same amazing food quality and hospitality. Amazing spot by the water! Totally worth checking this place out! Very nice establishment. The layout is bar on 1st floor and Restaurant on 2nd floor. Music is great, Bar view is welcoming, and bartenders are nice. There is a nice selection on the menu with an open kitchen view which complements the layout. Kitchen staff, waitresses and seating stewardess are all professional and create a wonderful experience. Nice to have this venue in the Rochester region within the Cornhill section. Alfredo pasta or Steak and Lobster are great meal choices. Motts sticks were a perfect appetizer. We went to this establishment for my sisters bday dinner. The waitress did a great job considering she didn't get any help (sad). Party of 16 also serving other tables. Arrival time 6:30 after an hour I had to ask for water for the whole party. Took another hour after drinks were ordered. Food arrived after 9:15pm. orders were wrong, Food cold, attitude from supervisor was so unprofessional. The owner wouldn't come out to talk to us. We waited and watched other come in an hour or 2 after us and was served before us. They charged a higher price that was not shown on menu and you found out when you received your bill. Supervisor threatened to call the police. I ended up getting slight food poison. Sharp pains in my stomach after eating only 2 shrimp. They were good but I ended up getting sick. Ran to the bathroom 3 times. I was at the table shaking and they still wanted me to pay the bill. They threatened to call ⁹the police. I feel like we were being discriminated against. I will NEVER return. So sad to treat people that way. I am an Event Coordinator and I want ALL my customers to return. Repeat business customers are the best for your business,and you never know who your serving. To top it off they said the owner was there but wouldn't come out. I’m Cuban… borne and raised two blocks from the sea…. After 20 years in Rochester NY… I can honestly say that the best red snapper, or better say… the best fish I have had in Rochester…. I had it there at 809.

I went there for my birthday and it took 45 minutes to get seated. The scenery was very nice and pretty. It took them about 30 minutes to take our order for a drink and food and then we waited about two hours to eat. We only had about two drinks per person while sitting there, waiting for our food because they weren’t even trying to make iContact with us To be able to order something else .One of the waitresses just threw his thumb at me, basically asking “am I okay”. They told my friend they were singing happy birthday they didn’t, but I didn’t make a big deal about that. And at the end, all of our receipts and bills were messed up.
